Join Ciao Bella Getaway Club for another fun-filled event. October is all about Fall and Halloween, so we have conjured up a spooktacular day. Join us for an afternoon lunch as we devour the "King Kong" pizza at New York Pizza. Then we will walk to the Stanford Theatre to see a special showing of the original 1935 "Bride of Frankenstein". After the movie, we will all probably need a glass of wine! If you are up to it, join us for optional wine tasting and maybe a wonderful desert along Palo Alto's lively University Avenue.

The Stanford Theatre Foundation is dedicated to bringing back the authentic movie-going experience of Hollywood's Golden Age. Classic Hollywood directors never intended you to watch their pictures on a video screen in your living room (or while jogging). The magic of the movies depends on a larger-than-life image and the shared reactions of a large audience.
The Stanford Theatre first opened in 1925, and it served for decades as Palo Alto's premier movie house. Most classic films played here on their initial Palo Alto engagements
In 1987 was purchased and restored by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. It is currently operated by the Stanford Theatre Foundation, led by David Woodley Packard, the son of Hewlett-Packard co-founder David Packard.
